Unusual Tales - One Way Trip

"Unusual Tales", a series presenting Steve Ditko's comics from 1957 to 1959 that are in the public domain.

From Charlton's MYSTERIES OF UNEXPLORED WORLDS #10 [1958] comes the 5-page "One Way Trip".

It's an odd little fantasy story that starts with a man getting news of an almost certainly fatal diagnosis from a  doctor, and follows him from there.  It's a very good example of the body language in Ditko's art, look at the final panel compared to the earlier panels of the lead character.  Also some great close-ups of the eyes.

  1. Someone who believes he or she has something to live for can with attitude increase the odds.
Sure, nothing is foolproof, but it has happened. The will to live can be a powerful thing.
The obverse also holds: the lack of a will or purpose in life can degrade one's being to the point of expiration.
This tale is inspiring and well told.
